Fuck Mario

The owner of Centerfolds in Berlin, Connecticut? The mustachioed, track suit wearing motherfucker? Yeah, fuck him.

I don't need to get sued so I won't repeat any of the ridiculous stories that I've heard about the guy; I'll just say something that's beyond dispute. Mario is a piece of shit.

    1. Mario,

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you on having one of the best clubs in Connecticut. As you may have seen in my review (http://petertips.blogspot.jp/2010/04/centerfolds-cafe-berlin-ct.html), it's one of my favorites and one of the few clubs that I make a point of visiting at least a few times per year even though I've already reviewed it. Other than my most recent visit in February when there were only three girls working, I've always had a great time there.

As for this post, I put it up after hearing yet another rant from one of your former dancers who is now working at another club. I visit a lot of clubs, and any time that girls mention that they've worked at Centerfolds, they invariably say something along the lines of "The club was nice, but I just couldn't work for Mario any more," and then they follow it up with a mix of personal and professional complaints about you. I haven't found that with any other club. Of course girls always complain about their former clubs in a general sense, but you are the only club owner that I've heard multiple complaints about. I'm not going to repeat some of the personal attacks that I've heard, because I have no idea whether they're true and don't want to put them out there on a public forum, but the stories that I've heard about the borderline exploitative fees and fines that you charge have been consistently damning. I didn't put details about that into the original post either since I'm sure they vary from one girl to the next, but since you asked, I'll give you a chance to confirm or deny a few of the specific complaints that I'm remembering off the top of my head.

Is it true that you charge girls a large fine for each shift that they've missed, even if they've missed an entire week or more of shifts due to being out of town? I've heard girls claim that they would have been required to pay you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in order to return to work after they left town for an extended period of time to deal with family/personal issues.

Do you really charge girls in order to allow them to smoke?

What about charging girls to chew gum? I refuse to believe that this one is true, but I've heard it from more than one source.

Whether or not you are currently doing those specific things, you might want to consider treating your girls better or I suspect it won't be long until your current dancers are moving on to other clubs where they'll be complaining about you just like so many of your former dancers do. Though, if my last three-dancer visit in February is any indication, maybe that's already started to happen.

  4. Most of these girls have never danced in another state. I use to dance in NYC at Flashdancer and then moved to CT and worked for at Centerfolds. In NYC many clubs have the same rules that Mario enforces. At Flash you don even pick your days they pick your days and fill you in accordingly. And you are not allowed to come in on a non scheduled day. They flat out fine you $100 for being late, $50 late to stage, $20 for chewing gum. Your not allowed to hang in dressing room for extended periods of time.Nor are you allowed o hang out with your friends a bar. As a dancer you are your business and if your not making money, your losing money...

  5. At strip clubs, women ARE the business. Without them, there is no business...right? Right! So, IMO, having rules at your club is a must to run the business. With that said, fining these girls extravagant amounts for a club owners decided "infractions" is just a way to rob these girls of the hard earned cash they're making. If a working girl is that insubordinate, don't rob her...fire her. Once a girl makes her money, it should be hers. The club owner shouldn't use his / her rules to take back money earned. Mario is a piece of shit.

  6. worked for mario for a few months in 2011... was by far the most difficult person i've EVER had to work for. Ritchie from ruby's wasn't much better but he never fined us.. he'd just get drunk, fire us, forget he fired us, then call screaming wondering where the fuck we were lol. but still, much better than being charged money every time i wanted to smoke. fuck mario.

  7. I'm a dancer at center folds. They increased the smoking fee to $20. And you are no longer allowed to provide a doctors note to excuse a missed shift. Ugh.

    1. I am a dancer at centerfolds to and it sometimes is really tough listening tom Mario but the other managers are cool and they go over all the rules and fines when you are hired. I guess if you don't like it, you don't have to work but there is good money to be maid and I don't want to work at a trashy club like the few that are left around.

  8. The subject of this thread treats the girls at his club like whipped dogs. At long last, Sir, have you no sense of decency? If there was more money taking candy from babies, that would be his line of work. He is a greedy predatory animal that is morally and spiritually revolting. The abusive cruelty for it’s own sake, simply because he has the power to be so cruel and greedy, is loathsome.

  9. This is hilarious. I randomly stumbled across your blog and was going through it chronologically until I saw "Fuck Mario" and immediately my time as a dancer at Centerfolds came up. I worked from '15-'16 and every single thing you wrote in your response to "Anonymous"/Mario was disturbingly accurate. You forgot to mention that he is a lush, he's racist, and he doubles fines during the winter. Because we should totally risk driving in the snow on icy roads in order to avoid a $500 Sunday fine.
