Electric Blue (Tolland, CT)

Quality of Dances (19/20) - It varies from girl to girl, but a good dance here is as good as any dance that you'll ever have. Most of the girls are willing to go the extra distance to make sure that you leave satisfied, and a few of them seem to be ashamed if they can't finish you off. The only negative is that some of the girls, especially on the day shift, will play ridiculously short songs in the dance room. If you hear "Extra Pale" or "Acoustic #3" by the Goo Goo Dolls, insist that they wait until the next song. There's no shortage of girls who will give you a great dance, but the Latinas are the safest best if you aren't willing to go through a little trial and error.

Quality of Dancers (6/10) - They don't seem to be very exclusive about who can work here and there have been too many fake tits recently, but there are usually multiple girls in the 7-8 range. That's been less of a sure thing recently though, and I've had to lower my usual standards a few times in order to get a dance. Still, these dances are good enough to justify going with a girl who is a little larger or a little older than I'd usually be spend my cash on.

Number of Dancers (7/10) - There are usually several girls that would be worth getting a dance from, and because the club is rarely too crowded, the dude/dancer ratio is always favorable. There's been more filler than usual lately, but the overall numbers are still pretty solid.

Variety/Diversity of Dancers (3.5/5) - There are a ton of Brazilians, but African Americans are rare and Asians are nonexistent.

Attitude of Dancers (7.5/10) - If they're busy, you may have to approach them, but they're mostly friendly and won't keep pestering you to get dances if you're not interested. Also, they never ask for tips after dances and the stage action is pretty solid. There's been a little more of a push for the Champagne room recently, but most of the girls only ask once and still provide great dances if you decline.

Value (6.5/10) - The $5 cover and drink prices are reasonable, and the dances are an amazing value if you're interested in letting the dancers do everything that they're willing to do. My only complaint here is that they recently started charging the $5 cover even in the afternoons, but at least that means the one drink minimum is gone. If you're anything like me, your sole purpose of being in a club in the afternoon is to get dances, so you can make up for the cover charge by refusing to buy a beverage, that way the net amount of cash that you have available for the ladies won't change.

Dance Setup (2.5/10) - There are partitions between the chairs, but anyone can look in to see what's going on. Also, there are closed-circuit cameras watching, though most of the dancers are skilled enough to block the angles with their body. If a girl asks you where you want to sit, go to the booth in the back left corner, because the dances are significantly better when you're back there.

Club Setup (8/10) - This is not a super-classy club, but it is very well-designed. The stage is fairly large, the chairs are relatively comfortable, and there are plenty of dark corners where you can sit if you don't feel like being out in the open.

Club Atmosphere (7/10) - This is a great place to relax, and seems to be fairly safe (except for the night where one of the dancers came at the bouncer with a knife. It's too bad they fired her; she was a ton of fun). Also, the music is usually pretty solid, even if the late-night DJ (ponytail) is kind of a dickbag.

Club Accessibility (1/5) - The club is right off of the interstate, but there are no hotels and no mass transportation options in the immediate area. If you're looking to stay at a hotel nearby and catch a cab to the club, I recommend the Howard Johnson Express in Vernon. The rooms are cheap, and there are built-in bottle openers beside the toilets. The taxi will cost you about $30 each way and the room is around $65, but it's easily worth it to make an epic night of drinking and strip clubbing.

Overall - This is one of my favorite clubs of all time and is by far the best club in New England.

  1. I agree, great dances. Girls are very "active".

  2. Great place. Dorothia is my favorite. Older, but very nice...

  3. I love this place. They are very friendly from the bouncer to the bartender ( I forget her name but she's always there) and the dancers are great. There is no presure and I've never had any problems there. Agreed = Sabrina is a lot of fun.

  5. As of January 2010, Fantasy is perhaps a better choice of Dancers, she gets right down to business.

  7. Seriously? They all look like they've had a couple kids, most are over 30 it seems, and the place looks like a dive. Honestly, if you have breast-fed, you should not be working in a club. I've seen folded paper bags with more life than some of those racks. Get some standards.

  8. Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much for your insightful comment. Hearing from readers is one of Peter's great joys in running this site. Peter will respond to your post in parts.

    "Seriously?" Yes.

"They all look like they've had a couple kids..." Clearly you haven't seen Selena.

"...most are over 30 it seems..." Erroneous!

"...and the place looks like a dive." If by dive, you mean a well-kept and super spacious club with plenty of seating, private corners, a huge stage, several televisions and an awesome staff, then Peter couldn't agree more.

"Honestly, if you have breast-fed, you should not be working in a club." Well, now you've just gone and destroyed your credibility as a reviewer. If this were a rule, the dancer workforce would be decreased by upwards of 90%. Peter is sure you wouldn't want that.

"I've seen folded paper bags with more life than some of those racks." Peter has no idea what this means. The misogyny shines through like cum under a black light, but the metaphor is a mess.

"Get some standards." Holy crap, Peter can't believe he didn't think of that before. Maybe he should create an entire website based on a consistent and accurate strip club rating system developed over the course of hundreds of club visits. It's genius!!

    Love,

    Peter

  9. Can anyone tell me if the Blue is female-patron friendly? I adore going to strip clubs with my boyfriend (and would REALLY love to see one of the girls get "active" on him) but I've been to clubs where the girls just seem to shy away from couples and/or females.
    Thanks!

  12. Just was there for the first time tonight. Decent place - better than the places on Rte 20 in Mass, but not as good as The Foxy Lady or Cadillac in Providence. Girls were a bit pushy but DID give good dances. Most could stand to lose a few pounds but overall were pretty. Worth visiting.

  13. Female annonymous inquiry.
Don't know if you are still interested, but I have seen women in the club on several occasions, and there are always dancers who are "friendly" to the female patrons. There was even, at one time, a single lesbian who used to go in, although I have not seen her lately.

As for whether you can "see" a dancer get "active" on your boyfriend, it is usually the case that only one customer is allowed in the lap dance area for each dancer. (Of course, two dancers to one patron is more than welcome, but that's another story.)

  16. Blue is pretty descent, but it looks like crazy horse is on it's way to providing a more entertaining club. It seems that there will be more variety of girls and will become a much more Luxurious atmosphere

  18. Still get good mileage there? I'm originally from the midwest and living in MA now the club scene was a 5 lb bag of ice in the pants. I've been looking to branch out a bit and try to find somewhere, within a reasonable distance, where the dancers do more for you than gently wave their bodies in your general direction.

  19. The review is current as of last Thursday. It's hard to imagine that you'd be disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. See, I'm now in a bit of a quandry. I don't know if I want to go here or to some place in RI. In RI it sounds like you get a lot more mileage, even after the recent legal changes.

In RI I'm looking at either Cadillac's or Dollhouse. You got any experience with either, Mr. Tips?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have not been to the Dollhouse, but the Cadillac Lounge is one of my all time favorite clubs. I still haven't updated my Cadillac Lounge review, but you should be able to find it on here if you search my older posts. You really can't go wrong there or at the Blue though. If you're just looking for an aggressive dance, the Cadillac Lounge may be the way to go because the girls there are generally slightly more attractive, but you won't get quite as much mileage there as you will at the Blue during the regular dances.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great to know, though I have to admit I think I'm honestly split between the Blue and the Cadillac. Dollhouse is only really on my radar because it's a bit closer.

Two more questions: How do they treat newbies at both the Blue and Cadillac? Do they get passed over in favor of regulars or can a first timer still managed to get some good mileage?

The other question is about time. What, in your opinion, is the best time to go to these clubs? When the doors open, mid-afternoon, early evening?

    ReplyDelete
  23. You should be fine as a first-timer at the Blue. I've recommended it to plenty of people and have never heard a negative review. As far as timing goes, one of the beauties of the Blue is its consistency: it tends to be great at any time of day. So just do whatever is convenient for you.

I also don't think you need to worry about first-timer mileage at the Cadillac. Of course, your bang for your buck is typically better if you're a regular, but I think we're talking about differences on the margins at a place like Cadillac. I wish I could answer the time-of-day part, but my experience in that regard is pretty limited. Just use good sense and don't go when you expect it to be really crowded.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In general there's not really a regular vs. newbie vibe at Cadillac like you find in so many clubs, but Cadillac is so incredibly crowded on Friday/Saturday nights that even with a LOT of dancers it can be hard to get the attention of a dancer unless you are a regular.

Unless you like mall shopping the week before Christmas, you'd be better off going a weeknight or weekend during the day. Fewer dancers but there's always at least a couple really attractive dancers (usually more) and the ratio of dancers to patrons is much more favorable.

(Also, Cadillac has very private rooms for dances, no prying eyes or cameras)

  24. I wish the Blue had some kind of website... All I found was an old-ass MySpace page for them. Are there any days that are better than others to go to the Blue? Any specials which work out better than others?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks Peter. Nice handy website. Blue is the best on fridays with all the good looking girls in but gets busy with the crowd.

  26. Peter, you are the man and are spot on about Electric Blue(EB), I live in Dutchess County NY & can't find anything close to EB. For me it's almost worth the 1.5 hr drive. Been there sporadically over the last several years & I can't get enough. If you know of any similar spots in the Mid-Hudson Valley, please let us know! Thanks again

  27. I have thoughts on the time of day: The afternoon dancers generally tend to allow more contact and to be willing to take some time to give you satisfaction, if that is what you want. The evening dancers, across the board, seem a little more attuned to hustling younger guys and getting as much cash from them for giving as little as needed. Just in general. I like to go at about 5:30 or so, if I have some time, because you can catch the shift change: high proportion of girls to customers because the shifts overlap (no pun intended) and you can get to see more girls.
Weekend nights is the worst time. Packed, waiting lines in LD area sometimes, and no time for friendly contact.

  28. I have to agree with the comment made January 2010.

Fantasy rocked my world last night.

  29. Is EB 18+ or 21+? Every website I go on says something different, and I'd like to make sure before I make the hour long drive there. Also, has anyone checked out amateur night? I was thinking of competing but I don't want to waste my time if it's not worth it.

btw, Thanks Peter! Love your site, it's helped me a lot in narrowing down where I want to work and visit!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Electric Blue is 21+ for customers. I think that dancers only have to be 18, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I've only been there for one amateur night, but I thought it was just ok. My strong suspicion was that almost all of the "amateurs" were really dancers from other clubs looking to pick up a few bucks on their night off.

  31. Went here last night and had a great time. This review is very accurate. Pretty good looking girls, bad dance setup, good stage setup, and great dances. The quality of the dances easily makes up for the bad dance set up though. I received a lapdance from two different girls and they were both fantastic. Definitely going to be coming back. Thanks for the great review and I highly recommend going to Electric Blue also

  32. What's up with the Champagne room? Should I stick with the main room?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just visited for the first time on Peter's recommendation - generally a solid group of dancers and I arrived at about 1:30 in the afternoon! I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't follow all of Peter's advice, but I encourage visitors to take their time. There were a number of very friendly, nice looking dancers available, and I quenched my thirst with both a local draft brew and a delightful Brazilian lass.

  34. I went to The Electric Blue for the first time this past weekend. Spot on with the review and most of the comments!

Arrived around 9:45pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, but that changed within an hour or so. After that, it started getting fairly crowded and with wait times.

Checked out the stage action for a bit, then a couple LDs. Had a great time, most people were super friendly. I'll definitely go back if I get a chance!

The only thing I didn't like were all the mannequins. The Blues Brothers ones creeped me out for some reason...

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love the Electric Blue, but you have to be cautious sometimes with the private dances and the champange room, the girls will sometimes socialize and not dance, and then charge you for it. You might as well sit at the bar and do that for free. This one girl danced for one song and then talked to me about working there and other stuff then she said "That'll be $60" I was like "WTF?" It is also a pain when they ask for money for the jukebox, only a buck but annoying nontheless. Other then that it is a great place!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Great place to stop if you are driving from Boston to New York or back. Day dancers are pretty friendly, and take "no" decently well if you don't want a dance from them.

Dances have good contact. I haven't ever had them upcount on the # of dances they give - I like when the dancer specifically asks if I'd like another.

Haven't been to Providence lately... the only place that I am aware of that might beat the Blue for mileage is Showplace in Dover, NJ... but one has to accept a certain level of seediness there..

    ReplyDelete
  37. Went there the other night, paid $300 for the champagne room ($200 to the dancer, $100 to the house). It was great, definitely worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I spent my evening today at EB. Nice Club. Thanks to Peter.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Have been to EB several times. Definitely worth it. Nice variety of girls, ethnicly speaking; you can get a refreshingly new experience every time. Must agree with prior reviewer that Latinas are usually very good. Must disagree with earlier misogynist who was whining about older women working there. He obviously cannot appreciate the grace and magic of the lady who knows how to be girl & woman at the same time; thereby pleasing her man to the height of his fantasy and desire.

  40. This is my favorite in Hartford area, never regretted on any visit. Got good mileage on LD, but never tried VIP room as people often seem to write warnings in general about STD or any crap you can get from clubs.
I am very curious and planning to go for VIP/Champagne room, but need your advise guyz on hw, what not to stuff.

  41. Does Graciella still work there. Tall buxom
Brazillian with dark hair and amazing lap dancer?

  42. Best club I've been to so far hands down. There was a great mix of girls working when I got there at about six on Saturday night. Place was busy but not packed. Dances in the ld room were great bang for your buck but the area was even darker then I am used. Decided to drop some cash on the champagne room. $100 to the house then whatever you negotiate with the girl. First time I've gone to a champagne room and I can say i left very satisfied worth every penny. I think I found my new club of choice for the area.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've never been to EB, but have been to the Dollhouse several times. To some extent the girls have worked in both clubs - Dolhouse and EB. Some of the girls that work in the Dollhouse have also worked in Providence and others won't work in Providence at all for various reasons. I think the Dolhouse attracts the better quality girl.

  44. Went the distance with one of the hottest eastern European girls I have seen in awhile. A solid nine. Low 20' s in age. Got a big bonus and treated myself. Should of negotiated better though. Felt the cost was a bit high. But then again I had just returned from Amsterdam. All together a nice treat on a Friday evening. The back back back room is very dark.

  45. Been here several times. I have ventured in the cr, for $300, if you can get in for less than that props because I had to work her down from $500. Everything that was promised was delived. But the ld is my tag because.for $100 your can level satisfied. Only 1 out of 4 girls didn't offer to go the extra mile. My fav thing is the girls are pretty open about what they will do in the ld before you go in.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Best dance I ever had there was from an Asian waitress. She also dances on occasion, but she did a few dances with me and rocked my world. Just the best possible body in the place.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Been here about 5 times.. Last time was bad. I guess the talent is going down. Not the best in area anymore. Any other places suggested?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes, it is excellent club, I have visited a few times over the last 6 months, I think its location is conducive to attracting a variety of dancers as it is commutable from NYC, Providence and Boston, very centrally located. I did make the mistake of getting a lap dance from a Brazilian girl who will spend the entire lap dance trying to get you in the champagne room but that is a rarity. In many clubs you either have dancers only catering to the regulars or all of the dancers aggressively pushing non-contact mediocre lap dancers with no rapport with the customer during or after the dance, but in EB there seems to be a balance and the dancers seem more eager to please and make a personal connection, not sure why this is the case, maybe due to the location where more dancers are available or management policies, but I do walk out feeling satisfied every time.
Thanks Peter for making me aware of this club.

  49. I stopped by while travelling from Boston to NYC after seeing the highway signs. I was not there for long, but had a LD from a buxom blonde, which rocked my world. She hinted at VIP and was looking online to see its reputation. Evidently, I missed out by not taking her up on it. Perhaps next time!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I travel down from Boston to CT from time to time. I've stopped in EB several times in the last year, and I have had a great time at EB. I have had dances from many of the girls, and I especially like the Columbian girls. I noticed that there is a room off the stage next to the DJ's booth. I've only seen a couple of guys come out of that area. How is that room any different than the one off the general lap dance room?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The private dance room by the dj is a little more spacious than the private rooms beside the lap dance area, but it's not really much different and the services are exactly the same. I forget if they charge $50 or $100 more to go back there, but, either way, it's not worth the up charge.

I've also been told that there's a VIP area to the other side of the stage, but I think that's only used by the owner's friends and the occasional UConn alum NBA player.
